Customer feedback:
Seems to not be working on my cars, even if some of them are european and american versions
Vehicle models currently tested are
– Daihatsu Copen L881K with K3-VE engine and european-region ECU,
– Daihatsu YRV Turbo with K3-VET engine with a japanese-region ECU
– Infiniti FX35 S50 with VQ35DE with an USA-region ECU (the only working fine allegedly)
I need to read ECU error codes to start my diagnostics operations, but haven’t be able to connect to the first two Daihatsu cars’s EFI/ECU to scan the DTCs.
Vehicle engine and engine models were written before, I’ll rewrite those here:
– Daihatsu Copen L881K with K3-VE engine and european-region ECU
– Daihatsu YRV Turbo with K3-VET engine with a japanese-region ECU
– Infiniti FX35 S50 with VQ35DE with an USA-region ECU
The first one in the list is listed in the Autel diagnostics software but with the japanese version of that car (which is the L880K instead of the european L881K, and it has a JB-DET 660cc engine instead of the K3-VE 1300cc engine found in the european market with a different name of the car’s model). A very similar car, the Daihatsu Sirion with the K3-VE engine in europe is seemingly connecting and talking correctly to the ECU, so it’s just needed to add a new engine selection option to the Daihatsu > Copen > engines selector in the Diagnostics area.
The second one, the Daihatsu YRV Turbo with K3-VET engine, is listed in the Autel diagnostics software but I cannot connect with the tool and I will debug in the upcoming two days, it seems like it’s not connecting even with a JOBD spec reader, I need to check continuity between the ECU and the OBD/DLC connector to ensure it has correct power, grounds, K-Line (pin 7) connected, I’ll let you know, maybe it’s just a faulty connector on the car’s side, but it already powers on other OBD readers via the 12v pin of the connector so it should work already…
Solution:
We reflect this issue to Autel engineer, Autel factory engineer sent latest version software to customer, here is the answers from customer
“I checked and for the new Daihatsu Copen L881K (K3-VE) addition it works properly, for the YRV Turbo with K3-VET in the end it was a faulty cable on the K-Line pin that I just rewired end to end just to make sure, and it seem to work now with the configuration that was already available before.”
